Immersive Trainning in Supportive Psychotherapy Offered by  OCtober 9, 2026 by Robert E Feinstein MD | 6.5 CEU/CME/CE -Eligible Go to Empathian.com for more information and enrollment

Supportive psychotherapy is the most widely practiced form of individual psychotherapy across all mental health settings — yet it remains among the least formally taught. Clinicians working across outpatient, inpatient, primary care, and community settings deliver supportive interventions daily, often without a structured framework for what they are doing or why it works. This full-day immersive training directly addresses that gap, providing licensed clinicians with a comprehensive, clinically grounded introduction to the theory, assessment, and practice of supportive psychotherapy. The program moves sequentially through the complete arc of supportive treatment: from defining the model and conducting a targeted patient evaluation, through establishing a working alliance and treatment contract, to case formulation and evidence-informed intervention strategies. Two live supervision sessions — one before and one after lunch — give participants the opportunity to present their own cases and receive real-time expert feedback in a collaborative small-group format. The day is designed so that every concept taught in the morning is applied clinically by the afternoon.

Ideal for clinicians seeking a flexible, broadly applicable psychotherapy skill set.

Assessment & Treatment of Patient with Severe Personality Disorders: Offered by  Robert E Feinstein MD September 26, 2026 6.5 CME/CEU/CE Credits Go to Empathian.com for more information and enrollment

Despite their high prevalence in clinical caseloads, severe personality disorders remain among the most undertreated conditions in mental health practice. The program opens with a clinically rich examination of the difficult patient: how personality disorders are diagnosed, organized, and can be managed in clinical practice, brought to life through curated film illustration. Participants then move into the structural foundations of effective treatment—how to establish a treatment contract, diagnose levels of personality organization, and conduct sessions with patients. The first live supervision session, with participant case presentations, will focus on material presented in the morning. The afternoon focuses on disorder-specific strategies for Borderline and Narcissistic Personality Disorders before closing with a second live supervision session in which participants present their own complex cases for real-time expert feedback.

This intensive, one-day program combines cinematic case illustration, integrative didactic instruction, and two live supervision sessions to ensure that skill transfer is immediate and concrete—not merely informational. Film is used not as entertainment but as a clinical teaching tool: curated scenes illuminate personality dynamics, diagnostic distinctions, and common treatment failures in ways that direct instruction alone cannot. Participants will have the opportunity to present their own clinical cases and receive structured, expert supervision in a small-group format. This advanced program provides 10 Hours of  structured seminars and 10 hours of small group supervision available psychiatric nurse practitioners, counselors and  psychiatrists treating patients with severe personality disorders

Ideal for clinicians working with high-risk, complex, or personality-disordered
